Verb is aimed at fledgling businesses who have just started in the wide world of business, and it’s more competitive than ever. You’ll keep hearing the words Digital Marketing banded about and wondering what that’s about, then people will start throwing jargon like SEO, PPC, Mobile Optimised, Display Marketing and it’s all a bit confusing!
So in the course of my blogs over the coming weeks I’m going to try and work my way through all of Digital Marketing (all of it that matters to you!) and help you understand it all. I’ve worked as a Digital Marketing Officer for a couple of years, and have completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing studying at the Digital Marketing Institute (Did I say the word Digital enough then?!) so I’m just passing on what I’ve learnt to you, and all the time I’ll be dropping links to people who are leading in this profession so you can continue to find out more from sector leading experts.
So let’s begin… What is Digital Marketing (also known as Online Marketing, Internet Marketing or Web Marketing)? Digital Marketing is a collective name for marketing activity carried out online, as opposed ti traditional marketing channels which is carried out through print media, live promotions, TV & radio advertisement. Digital Marketing describes how organisations advertise to customers by means of their personal digital devices which they use every day, think how many people have you seen today using a smartphone, tablet, laptop. Effective Digital Marketing is organisations generate new revenue streams based on a range of exciting new marketing channels and the development of brand awareness online.
The official definition is Digital Marketing describes engaging with customers through online advertising and and marketing communications by means of the digital devices consumers commonly use: computers, tablets, smartphones and mobile phones Verb will be releasing blogs on different aspects of Digital Marketing, such as (but not limited to!)
We’ll also be doing blogs on a host of other stuff such as how to do great web design, great adverts for print etc.
