GDPR – What is this new regulation?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a series of changes to the way that data is captured, used and managed, for all individuals in the EU. This will affect all UK and EU businesses. The purpose of the GDPR is to give all individuals in the EU an increased control over the data that can be captured and used about them by companies.GDPR will come into force on the 25th May 2018 throughout the European Union. This is the final deadline and there is no transitional or grace period after this date. Companies must be prepared for this date. Any organisation that holds, collects or uses customer data for their marketing or business communications will need to review their processes and ensure they are compliant by the deadline.
